Garden Design Fees

I don’t charge for informal phone conversations, email exchanges, or video calls, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I’ll help if I can!

Every project is different. I need to listen to your requirements and likely see your site to be able to give an accurate fee estimate. As a guide though…

  • Garden design consultation: Fees start at £240 for an initial site visit, followed up within 5 working days by a brief feasibility statement and fee proposal.

  • Bespoke planting design for existing beds: Fees range from £2.50 to £50 per sq m depending on the area to be designed and the challenges your site presents, plus the initial consultation fee.

  • Full garden redesign: Concept designs start at £860 plus the initial consultation fee - please see below for more in depth information regarding fees for services offered as part of the full redesign process.

  • Bespoke design follow-up: Follow-up after your project has been completed, is tailored entirely to your needs and so bespoke fees are calculated based on my hourly rate.

  • Charities and community gardens: If you are a charity or would like help creating a community garden, please get in touch to see what we can work out.

Full Garden Redesign Fees

Steps 1 - 3. Concept Design, Detailed Design, and Realisation

Fees can vary tremendously depending on the nature of your unique project. I have given some examples below of fees involved in a full garden redesign of various sizes of project to act as a guide.

Example A

Garden Size: 50 - 200 m2

  • Typical fee range for standard service: £860 - £1,800

  • I am happy to provide any or all of the detailing involved in this part of the process so I have provide a breakdown of typical fee ranges below.

    Landscape Detailing: £690 - £1,440

    Construction Detailing: £690 - £1,440

    Planting Detailing: £860 - £1,800

  • Preconstruction

    Typical fee range for assisting you with CDM regulations and the tendering process: £345 - £720

    Other elements of this stage, during the construction and planting phases, and post construction, are charged at my hourly rate according to how much or how little input is required.

Garden Size: 200 - 500 m2

  • Typical fee range for standard service: £1,575 - £2,475

    Landscape Detailing: £1,260 - £1,980

    Construction Detailing: £1,260 - £1,980

    Planting Detailing: £1,575 - £2,475

  • Preconstruction

    Typical fee range for assisting you with CDM regulations and the tendering process: £630 - £990

  • Preconstruction

    Typical fee range for assisting you with CDM regulations and the tendering process: £840 - £1,820
