Garden Design Fees

Every project is unique. I recommend starting with a complimentary, no-obligation call to discuss your requirements and receive a fee estimate before moving forward to a site visit and fee proposal. Get in touch to book an initial call.

As a guide:

  • Garden design consultation: Fees start from £240 for an initial site visit.

  • Garden redesign:‍ Fees start from £1200 ‍for a Concept design only, or from £3785 for a complete package of design services up to the point construction begins (includes initial on-site consultation) - please see below for more in depth information regarding fee options for services offered as part of the redesign process.

    Note: If you plan to hire professional landscape contractors for a full build, budgets typically start from £20,000. A more modest budget is workable if you wish to complete the physical landscaping yourself, phase the implementation over time, or focus on planting.

  • Bespoke planting design for existing spaces: Fees start from £720 (includes initial on-site consultation).

  • Bespoke design follow-up: Follow-up after your project has been completed is tailored entirely to your needs and so bespoke fees are calculated accordingly.

  • Charities and community gardens: If you are a charity or would like help creating a community garden, I’d love to help. Please get in touch to see what we can work out.

Garden Redesign Fees

Steps 1 - 3. Concept Design, Detailed Design, and Realisation

Fees can vary tremendously depending on the nature of your unique project. I have given some examples below of fees involved in a garden redesign of various sizes of project to act as a guide.

Example A

Garden Size: 50 - 200 m2

  • Typical fee range for standard service: £960 - £1,800

  • I am happy to provide any or all of the detailing involved in this part of the process so I have provide a breakdown of typical fee ranges below.

    Landscape Detailing: £690 - £1,440

    Construction Detailing: £690 - £1,440

    Planting Detailing: £860 - £1,800

  • Preconstruction

    Typical fee range for assisting you with CDM regulations and the tendering process: £345 - £720

    Other elements of this stage, during the construction and planting phases, and post construction, are charged at my hourly rate according to how much or how little input is required.

Garden Size: 200 - 500 m2

  • Typical fee range for standard service: £1,575 - £2,475

  • Preconstruction

  • Preconstruction
